Led by Tichy in collaboration with students from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Project Cabrini Green was a public art installation that addressed the demolition of the final high-rise building in the eponymous housing development. The project involved placing 134 battery-powered LED modules inside the vacant apartments. The blinking lights, each with a unique pattern, represented poems created by the youth participants. The photogravure documented the artist’s capture of the final object before the demolition.
